Information we collect from you and how we use it

When you place an order with SB Building Supplies we collect the relevant information to complete orders like Name, Address, Email, Phone Number.

You can opt-in to receive updates from us that include offers, sales and promotional items.

So that we can provide a better service, we want to understand the shopping patterns of our customers, how customers select the products and services they ultimately buy, which apps and technology customers prefer to use, and how successful our advertising and promotional campaigns have been. • We never see or store your payment card details. We do use a unique encrypted token that can tell the same payment card is used in different places, All payments are taken by Stripe & Paypal
• We monitor which customers redeem vouchers using a code that makes the offer personal to you
• We may monitor other websites you visit and the goods and services you look for using search engines in order to provide you with information about products and services from SB Building Supplies which are most relevant to you.
• We may connect with social media sites so that we can better target our advertising while you are using these services and improve the relevance of what you see

The information collected by cookies does not in itself identify a visitor to our site but if you are a customer or account holder we may be able to identify you from both sets of information combined.

Disclosing your data

At SB Building Supplies we never make your personal details available to companies outside of our company and will never share any details.

Internally, we restrict access to personal information. Only employees who need the information in order to do their jobs have access to it. Your information will be stored in the UK and will not be transferred to any other country.

We keep our Privacy Policy under regular review and if we change our Privacy Policy we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect and how we use it.

Your Rights

You may request details of the personal information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of it, please email us.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. Therefore, if you think any information we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, please email or write to us as soon as possible so we can update our records. If you have set up an account you can always update your details in the account settings.

If, at any time, you wish to have your information removed from our active databases, please send an email entitled “REMOVE FROM DATABASE” to scott@sbbuildingsupplies.co.uk. If you do any of these actions, we will take steps to ensure that your preferences are updated or the information is deleted as soon as reasonably practicable. There may be a small delay in updating our database and so you may still receive communications which we have already processed in our system.

Basket Abandonment           

If you start shopping with us online and adding items to your shopping basket, either; when using your account or entering your email address, and don’t subsequently complete the order, we will send you an email.  The email will contain your chosen basket of products and any service we feel would be of help to you. These communications are sent under a legitimate interest basis and are treated separately from our marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from this at any time using the unsubscribe link on the bottom of the email you receive.

Marketing

You can choose to be added to our mailing list to receive marketing information, for this we use MailChimp. We only store your email address and name for marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe to all our marketing information by clicking the link in an email or by contacting support.

To help personalise your journey and process your orders or assist you with any issues you are having we currently use the following companies, who will process your personal data as part of their contracts with us where applicable:

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Forms

Your data is sent securely from the contact form to the site owner for processing your enquiry. If this is dealt with and no longer required, the email is deleted securely and no further information is held with us.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

What we collect and store

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

• Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Site Caching

This site utilises caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary.
